Adjoining Holyland Gardens is the Pembroke Nature Reserve surrounding the Upper Mill Pond where you can spot Little Grebe, Heron, Mute Swan, Mallard, Moorhen, Cormorant, Teal, Coot, Kingfisher andTufted Duck. You will spot woodland birds such as Treecreepers, Willow Warbler and several Tits - you may even spot otters on the water in early morning or at dusk.

Pembroke Mill Pond is divided in two by a stone built bridge- the eastern pond is a favouite walk for all local people and the young children love to feed the numerous ducks and swans. The western section surrounds the the Norman Castle, The castle is open to visitors all year round and events and functions from fireworks to falconry are also held within the grounds.

Freshwater East Beach has tranquil water and fresh golden sands,sloping gently into the sea plus picturesque walks along the coastal path with grand cliff top views. It's also popular for water sports and sailing. Local fishermen launch their boats from the slipway and visotors stop to view "today's catch". There is ample parking near the beach + toilets. The beaches of South Pembrokeshire are just a short drive away.The popular beaches and harbour of Tenby are approx. 8 Miles and Saundersfoot just a couple of miles further along the coast. Quieter Manorbier is just 5 miles and Barafundle Bay, which is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, is just a 6 miles drive. Angle Beach is around 9 miles.

Everyone will enjoy the easy walk around Bosherston's beautiful lily ponds, with options to explore the dunes and pools behind Broadhaven beach. The walk is mostly along even gravel paths with two narrow causeways. Rich in wildlife all year round with sightings of kingfishers and otters often reported. Visit Bosherston's Olde Worlde Cafe for real tea with tealeaves.
